  • With this Prelude and fugue for organ, Jean Langlais, aged 20, won the first Composition Prize at the Paris National Institution for the Blind in 1927. This work, on a given theme by his former teacher André Marchal, will be published only 55 years after it has been composed, by Universal Edition (Wien) in 1982, and dedicated to one of his pupils just issued from the Paris Conservatoire with a First Prize in the organ class.
