Mrs. Marie-Louise Langlais, publisher of jeanlanglais.com, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
Contact: ml.langlais@wanadoo.fr

Data Collected

This website uses no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies, and relies on no third-party audience measurement service (Google Analytics or equivalent). Only two processing activities collect data.

Contact form: the data you voluntarily submit, namely your name, email address, subject, and message content.

Built-in traffic measurement: for each page viewed, the site records the page address, the language, and the section, together with a non-reversible technical identifier. That identifier is a truncated SHA-256 hash of your IP address, your browser, the page viewed, and the current date. It is used solely to avoid counting the same visit twice and changes every day, which rules out any tracking over time. Your IP address is never stored, and no cookie or local storage is set in your browser.

Purpose and Legal Basis

The data submitted through the contact form is processed solely for the purpose of responding to the user's inquiry. The legal basis for this processing is the user's consent, given by voluntarily submitting the form (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR).

Traffic statistics are used only to know which sections are visited, in order to improve the site. The legal basis is the publisher's legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR). This measurement neither reads nor writes any information on your device and is strictly limited to this website, which exempts it from consent under the French data protection authority's guidelines.

Recipients

Messages are received by the website publisher (ml.langlais@wanadoo.fr) and by her technical service provider (julien@kreaddis.com, Kreaddis) acting as a data processor. Data is hosted in France by Kreaddis and is never sold or shared with third parties. Traffic statistics stay on that same server and are passed on to no one.

The contact form is protected against automated submissions by Google reCAPTCHA. When you submit the form, your IP address and information about your browsing are sent to Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC), which may involve a transfer to the United States under the EU - U.S. Data Privacy Framework. That processing is governed by Google's privacy policy. Apart from this case, no data is transferred outside the European Union.

Retention Period

Messages received through the contact form are kept in the website's database for as long as the site remains online, in order to preserve the history of correspondence. You may request the deletion of your data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

Traffic data is deleted automatically after 13 months, in line with the French data protection authority's recommendation on audience measurement.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access, rectification, and erasure
  • Right to restriction of and objection to processing
  • Right to data portability

To exercise these rights, please write to ml.langlais@wanadoo.fr or, for technical matters, to julien@kreaddis.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL), www.cnil.fr.

Cookies

This website only uses a technical cookie strictly necessary for the administration interface (session cookie). No tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies are set in your browser, including for the traffic measurement described above. No consent banner is therefore required.
