These two sacred vocal pieces have not been composed the same year : "Miserere mei" was included in a larger work for choirs SATB and organ, unpublished, composed for the Good Friday for the church Saint-Pierre de Montrouge where Jean Langlais was the organist. "Libera me Domine" has been composed 5 years later, for 3 voices only (STB) in 1948. The two works have been put in one collection in 1991, just after Jean Langlais'death.
