Louis Vierne composed his "Messe Solennelle" for mixed choir and 2 organs in 1901, just one year after having been selected as the organist of Notre-Dame de Paris. Jean Langlais did the same quite 50 years after, in 1949, 4 years after having been selected to be the organist of Sainte-Clotilde Basilica in Paris.

The comparison is interesting between these 2 often sung masses, composed by two blind composers for the same ensemble : mixed choir and 2 organs.
